グローバル起業家育成セミナー
新型コロナウイルスの影響で、世界的に急激な社会・価値観の変革が起き、これまで以上に世界とも簡単につながることができるようになり、熊本にもこれまで以上にビジネスチャンスが訪れています。
一方で、日本人にとっては外国人との接触機会が少ないため、グローバル展開する事業が生まれにくい状況であったり、外国人にとっても言語の壁、文化の違いやビザ取得等のハードルが高いなど、まだまだ発展途上であり、今後さらに起業環境を整えていく必要があります。
そこで、今回は、日本語と英語を交えながら、日本人と外国人のコミュニケーションの機会を増やし、お互いの文化・歴史を理解できるような機会をつくるとともに、日本での起業環境・海外での起業環境を学べる「グローバル起業家育成セミナー（全３回）」を開催します。

経歴
イギリス ダーラム大学東洋学部 首席卒業
本田技研工業(株)とソニーセミコンダクタマニュファクチャリング(株)を始め、日本を代表する企業の将来の幹部社員に対するグローバルマネジメント研修の講師を務める。その他、多言語学習カリキュラムの設計、公教育における教員研修と支援など、教育の幅広い分野で活動する。日英翻訳通訳においても、自民党や大学、行政、大手企業などを相手に多数の実績を残した。

Global Entrepreneur Development Seminars
Societies all over the world experienced sudden, radical changes to their structures and values in the wake of COVID-19. One significant change is that it is now easier than ever to connect to people worldwide. This could potentially lead to new business opportunities for Kumamoto.
That said, Japanese people generally have little contact with people from outside of Japan, which makes it comparatively difficult for Japanese businesses to expand overseas. Furthermore, non-Japanese people have to overcome several hurdles, including the language barrier, cultural differences and difficulties in acquiring a visa, in order to start up a business in Japan. Reforms to aid entrepreneurship need to be implemented if Japan is to take advantage of the new opportunities afforded to it.
Against this backdrop, we will hold the Global Entrepreneur Development Seminars, a series of three seminars which aim to provide aspiring entrepreneurs from within and without Japan the opportunity to connect with each other using a mixture of English and Japanese; to learn about each other’s culture and history; and to learn points to keep in mind when starting up business ventures in Japan or overseas.

Daniel McGregor, President, Parakaro Corporation
Personal history
Born in 1985, Daniel graduated from the School of East Asian Studies, Durham University in 2007 and joined Parakaro the following year, becoming president in 2020. He teaches Global Management, cross-cultural communication and practical communication skills to managers at major Japanese multinational corporations such as Honda Motor Co. and Sony, as well as to civil servants at state schools and government bodies. He also has eighteen years of translation and interpretation experience for customers including the Liberal Democratic Party, publishing houses, universities, local governments and multinational corporations.
